Academic Tests Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) - Students in grades 3-9 must take the MEAP test. It covers reading and math each year. Students must also take a writing section in grades 4 and 7, a science section in grades 5 and 8, and a social studies section in grades 6 and 9. Michigan Merit Exam (MME) - Michigan students must take the MME in eleventh grade. The three components of the test include the ACT Plus Writing® exam, the WorkKeys® job skills assessment and separate tests in social studies, math and science. It is given every year in March. Michigan Plumbing Exams and Licensure - Find information about licensing and testing requirements to become a plumber in Michigan. Michigan Barber Exams and Licensure - Barbers in Michigan must pass an exam administered by the Michigan State Board of Barber Examiners before they can be licensed. The two-part exam has a theory section and a practical section. Candidates have 120 minutes to complete the former and 170 minutes to complete the latter. Michigan Driving Test - Applicants have to pass a vision screening test, a road test and a written exam before receiving a license. They must also meet physical standards established by the Secretary of State's Office. The road skills test and the written exam are waived for new residents. |
