• Must have experience as a foreman, supervisor or contractor in the trade; or
• Must have a certain number of years of comprehensive training, technical education or broad experience associated with electrical contracting; or
• Must have technical experience in electrical work with the Armed Forces or government entity; or
• Must have a combination of these qualifications totaling a requisite number of years of experience.
• Exam Requirement: A candidate for electrical certification usually needs to take a State Licensing examination. A candidate for electrical registration must take a local competency examination. For more information, see your state's requirements.

You will receive it by mail or email within one to two weeks after you take the Journeyman Electrician Exam.

Some states will honor a license granted in another state and it typically depends on what company administered the test and what score was achieved.
