Academic Tests

Delaware English Language Arts (ELA)/Literacy Assessment - Students in grades 3-8 take this assessment annually as one measure to ensure they are keeping up with state standards in English language arts and literacy. 

Delaware Mathematics Assessment - All students grades 3-8 take the annual math assessment, which includes writing, problem-solving and critical thinking questions to assess student progress.

Delaware Next Generation Science Assessment - Students in grades 5 and 8, as well as students taking high school biology, are asked to demonstrate their knowledge through writing and by performing tasks to solve real-life problems that are grade-level appropriate.

Delaware Social Studies Assessment - Students in grades 4, 7, and 11 are tested annually, in an exam in which they are given questions about history, geography, economics and civics.

Delaware Electrician Exams and Licensing - Electricians in the state of Delaware must take and pass an exam in order to be licensed to work. The exam is based on the National Electrical Code (NEC). The Board of Electrical Examiners is responsible for administering and scoring the exam.

Delaware Barbers and Cosmetologists Exams and Licensing - Barbers, cosmetologists, nail technicians and those who wish to practice similar trades must take an exam to receive a first-time license in Delaware. The exam is based on the National Examination for Cosmetology and Barbering. Textbooks are available for applicants to study. It is administered several times a year.

Delaware Real Estate Agents Exams and Licensing - Real estate agents must take a 99-hour education course and then pass a two-part examination if they wish to obtain a Delaware real estate license. The exam has 120 multiple choice questions, 40 of which concern Delaware's specific rules, laws and regulations for real estate. It is taken via computer.

Delaware Dental Hygienist Exams and Licensing - Delaware requires dental hygienists to pass two examinations before receiving a license. The first is the Delaware Practical Board Examination. It is held in January and June, and only 36 candidates can take the test each time. The second test is the Jurisprudence Written Examination. It is administered in January and May.

Driver's Tests

Delaware Driving Exams - Delaware requires all applicants for a driver's license to take a vision test, written test and a driving test. The written test is multiple choice and consists of questions about general driving knowledge and road signs. The driving test assesses a candidate's driving skills.
